Can I return an electrical part to FCP? 900

Gents:

I bought an a/c control unit ($225) from FCP a few weeks ago. The part arrived with a crack in the plastic circuit shield that also holds the wires. This crack does not compromise the units functioning. Meanwhile, it turns out that the problem with the a/c was entirely related to low freon despite being told by two separate mechanics that it was electrical (one said it was the a/c control unit, hence, the purchase.)

Any suggestions on how can I encourage FCPGroton to accept the return? I am willing to pay a reasonable restocking fee.

Robert
