I seem to recall ipd offering an under-hood quiet kit, though I can't locate the webpage for it at the moment. From what I can tell, it's just some extra foam padding that is supposed to dampen the noise from the engine bay. However, I'm talking about sound insulation of any sort, homemade or ordered.

I was wondering if having the extra foam underneath the hood impedes heat that normally dissipates through the hood metal. As things are, my car stays cool enough to avoid any overheating problems (though the air above the engine gets "wavy" if I'm stopped in traffic), but I think that if I were to do something that kept just a little more heat in the engine bay, I'd run into problems.

Has anyone who has installed any sort of noise-damping padding in the engine bay noticed an increase in temperature?
