Side-to-side seat swap - possible? 200

I picked up a decent set of vinyl front seats out of an '86 245 parts car this week. The passenger side is just about perfect - no rips and solid foam. The driver side has a couple of small tears in the seat bottom, but the foam is still good.

I was hoping to use the donor passenger seat to replace my miserable driver's seat in my '83 245. After swapping the mounts on the donor, it was plain to see that the donor passenger won't fit on the driver's side, due to the seatback adjustment knob.

What are my options? My current passenger seat is in very good shape, so there's no need to swap it out. Ideally I'd like to get as much of the donor passenger seat to work on the other side of the car. Ideas?

Thanks,
Pat
