having problems with 140/160 taillights?

if you have had problems with your 140/160 taillights not lighting up properly, or having the charges cross over, its probably a grounding problem. i've recently had to deal with this on my 142. i connected a wire from the top screw that attaches the back of the taillight to the car (and is supposed to ground it) to one of the screws that attaches the license plate light assembly. now my taillights work fine. and my side markers work now, too. if you've had this problem, try this. you may have to remove the top aluminum plate on the edge of the trunk that holds the cardboard backer to the car. good luck.
