A/C malfunction code S90-V90 1997

Kenny,

What pressures are you getting in the system? Under what temps?

The solar sensor controls (to some degree)fan speed and output location (dash vent, floor, etc...) and has no effect on the temp you set on the dash. So that is probably not the cause of the problem you describe.

If you turn the A/C off for about 10 mins and then back on will it begin to cool again?

If you leave the A/C on will the temp eventually get cool again at some point? or once it warms up, it doesn't cool again until you shut it off?

Several things come to mind...

Low freon/oil charge causing the compressor to get hot and the temp safety cuts it off. But usually when it cools down the compressor will come back on until it overheats again.

A faulty low pressure switch (pressostat) could be causing the evaporator to freeze up (especially if you line in a humid climate).

Aa overcharge could be causing the high pressure switch to cut the system off but it should come back on again when pressure drop.
