Does a 1996 SAAB 900 SE Drive better in the Snow than a 1990 Volvo 740 GL? 700 1990

I have all the info on getting $300 studded snow tires for my RWD 1990 Volvo 740 Gl along with sandbags, but would it just be easier to by a 1996 SAAB 900 SE? They are FWD and it has only 100k miles on it and no mechanical problems. Is it worth it in the long run to drive my Volvo with currently 185k miles on it, a stalling problem and the price of WINTER or should i just buy this SAAB.
Thank You, All the information is greatly appreciated! You guys Rock!
~Chris
