Nivomat Question 900 1996

I just bought new nivomats for a 960 wagon, but the eylets on the two shocks are reversed from each other. On one shock, the small eyelet is on the body of the shock, where the large eyelet is down on the shaft (near the accordian). On the other shock, the eyelets are reversed. Also the eyelet on the shaft of the other shock is labeled "top" meaning that I would have to mount one shock right side up and the other seemingly upside down. Is this OK, or did Boge reverse the eyelets on the assembly line?
