Looks like my brick will join me in the great frozen east. 200

Well, after a couple weeks looking around at car prices my dad has come to the conclusion that putting a few hundred or so into the old brick would be a better bet than putting a few thousand into someone else's used car.
I was glad to hear that since I've put $500 or so into tires and brakes in the last four months. I'd like to get my valve clearences looked at now and have the cat. replaced.
I think the water pump was replaced a few years back. The tranny is good save for the OD relay. I can fix the tailgate wiring soon and change the fluids etc.
What would be some other smart items to consider on this 200K+ beast?
Thanks Much
With renewed enthusiasm
Oliver
