Yeah, I'll cede the point... flow within the block is entirely thermosiphon, the water pump only circulates cooolant in the head. You will get some low amount of flow through the radiator as long as the thermostat is open.

The really cool way to wire the fan is with a three positon switch...

Auto = it runs on its thermostat

On = to keep it running with the ignition off

Off = it doesn't run at all. No point having the fan blow at 100 mph and sucking up half a horsepower doing it *^)
