Recommendations Sought: Engine Rebuild 140-160

I've been following your 142 project.
Any reason you are staying with a stock motor when the rest of the car is aggressive?

I would recommend using the isky lifters and pushrods. I have had bad luck with the OEM lifters. Use the IPD updated front/rear seal kits. I've had luck with their HD oil pump, also. Elring gaskets and mahle pistons (pricey buggers) have worked well for me. You will likely need new exhaust valves, every high mileage volvo head I've worked on needed 4 new exhaust valves. ARP Head studs are the way to go. Have the springs tested. Metal timing gears are nice. The bottom end bearings, rods and crank will probably look great no matter how many miles on the motor.
