I'm trying to run the wiring harness from the fender hole (where the "Volvo" badge used to be) up forward to the lamps in my '95 964. The passenger side looks as if it might be fairly easy, since there is a large (3" or so) hole with a plastic plug in it inside the engine compartment, that can hopefully be easily accessed to pull the fished wire thru.
HOWEVER - the driver's side is another story. I've spotted only one plugged hole - very small - down below the air filter housing. I've knocked the plug out, but trying to fish the wire through from back at the fender hole, it doesn't seem to pass thru all the way forward, over the inner fender, to this little hole. I have to judge by sound, and it doesn't sound as if it's going that far foward. If it is, I can't spot it thru the little hole.
If I could find another exit point from the space between the outer and inner fender into the engine compartment, I'd just exit wherever I could, and run the wiring harness up to the lamps in the engine compartment, thru a plastic wire loom to protect it. But, I can't find any other place to get the wire out.
I did the same thing with the side markers in my '94 854, and they went in very easily. The wires were easier to fish up to the headlamps. This looks as if it will be tougher.I can't feed it thru the small hole up front and run it back to the fender hole, because I can't get to the small hole very well at all. So, I have to start from the back and run it forward toward the grille.
Has anyone specifically done it on a '95 960 or later that can clue me on where I might try to push this wire thru on the driver's side ???
Thanks !
Tim
