HELP!! Windshield wiper cables! My achin' back!!! 140-160 1973

Hmmm... never done that, but for starters, I'd say you're nuts for trying it under the dash... couldn't take more than a half hour to remove the whole damn thing, could it?

Leads me to another question about wipers though... I was gonna post it on teh 120 side, but maybe you can help. The wiper motor fell out of the assembly in my 122 a while back.

They jammed in what appeared to be the park position, and I thought all was fine until the smoke appeared. I crawled under the dash to see the motor all catty-wampus in there, and too hot to touch. I think the motor is still OK...lots of magic smoke in those things.. if not, I have spares.

But I also have a complete wiper assembly out of a '68... yea, the ones with the cables you are having problems with. You reckon I'd be better off fixing the old system, or swapping to the cable system?
