Im not sure of the torque output however I believe it to be around 180 or so pounds/foot, never bothered to remember those numbers. Transmissions offered were a 4-speed OD automatic, german ZF and the Asian-Warner overdrive. Both are lazy transmissions with the TD and the ZF is tempermental. A 4-speed+OD manual was also available but not as popular, most Ive seen have been automatics. The manual is the way to go with these. They have a 1st gear that can pull down a barn and the gear spacing is pretty good, not perfect but it gets your attention as you reach for the redline of 5000 RPM. For a 2.4 litre diesel it moves very well. So far I get on average of 46 MPG highway driving, 38 with A/C running and it starts very easily.
Torque output of the standard non turbo diesel is somewhere around 110 pounds/foot with a rated output of I believe 40-45 KW or somewhere around 80 horsepower stock where the turbodiesel was "bookrated" at 105 horsepower. Hogwash as the math doesnt come close to adding up considering my 760GLE with all the toys weighs 3410 pounds and does 0-60 just shy of 9 seconds.
If your doing the serious hunt for a turbodiesel 760 do spend the extra time looking for that manual transmission car, you can live with the auto sure if you like manually shifting to keep up, shift points are very early and never really take advantage of the engines potential... Truth be known the TD doesnt come alive until after about 2500 RPM then it grabs your attention.
