Winshiled ideas?

My winshield is delaminating, to the point where I have decided to replace it. I just can't decide if I want to go with the newer style winshied with the one piece trim, or stay with the old style and hope that they can get the trim on right this time. For simplicitys sake I was thinking about the newer winshield, but I was not sure how it would look on an 88 340 with all of the other trim being chrome. I want to repaint the car in a coulple of years, so will I have to replace the winshiled again at that point to get a good job? Oh, and I noticed one little spot of surface rust under the trim. What would be the best thing to treat it with before a new winshield is installed?
