Yellow Peril starts and runs (poorly) D-jet problems? 140-160 1973

Ben and Susan and I got the Yellow Peril to start and run this afternoon
and it idles fairly well but takes gas very poorly. I found one contributing
factor: Had the low resistance sensor in the cylinder head. I found a higher
resistance one and put it in but it still doesn't take gas well. When opening
the throttle I can hear the clicks (which warmed the cockles of my heart).
I also did have to remove and clean the trigger points in the bottom of the
distributor and set the ignition dwell and timing.

What other things keep it from revving up right?

BTW this a a 73 B20F with a D cam and slightly milled head, lightly ported.
