Engineer wanted for CV boot 700

After reading Chilton's and Haynes, I realize why mechanics charge so much for replacing CV boots. My 1988 780 needs two, both are cracked from age. Wouldn't it be nice to INVENT a replacement boot which has a zip lock type of closure going from one end to the other? Then all I would have to do is cut off the old one and add grease and zip the new one on, with glue, and clamp the ends down.

Is this too difficult to imagine? This could be an easy 60,000 mile maintenance item and probably a large money maker for one of us. Don't wait for me, I'm no engineer!
