Steve is right, assuming you have the original type engine and it hasn't been modified. Compression ratio is indeed 8.7:1.

Octane rating is a measure of fuel stability, not of how much energy is contained in it. If you can run enough timing advance for good performance and economy without pinging or detonation (which is the fuel destabilizing), there is NO benefit to be had from using fuel that's more stable than that.
