940 - Elect Radiator fan does not go on with AC - AC does not cool

Hi,

I just got this 93 940 and am still working the bugs out of it. The AC system wont blow cool air due to the fact that the electric radiator fan does not turn on when the AC is switched on. The following has been checked:

1. AC system is charged up with 134a.
2. Compressor spins and pumps up the pressure in the system.
3. The electric radiator fan will work - I tested it by crossing the two wires on the coolant switch which is on the top right of the radiator - when I do this the fan runs fine.
4. The coolant temp switch when removed from the car and heated with an external source will switch 'on' (0 ohms), as it cools it switches 'off'.

I am missing something. Isn't the radiator fan supposed to be running all the time that the AC is on?

Thanks,

Tim
