doing a 740 oil pump with the engine in the car - how bad can it be?

Just bought my pump and rod bearing set - going to forge forward and try to do it. Lifting the engine is going to be a PITA. Hopefully, I won't find any other damage when I get in there. A clogged screen or bad pump would be ok - bearing damage would be a bummer!

Really does make you wonder why they design vehicles to make access limited? I think my 850 oil pump might be easier than the 740.
