'91 940SE transmission leaks, late 2-3 shift...

Hey all,

I have a '91 940SE with an AW71 transmission.

About a year ago, the transmission fluid began leaking. No problem: just started checking the fluid level more often than normal and adding transmission fluid. However, the leak has begun to worsen to the point that adding transmission fluid 1-2x a week has become a necessity.

What's the best procedure for diagnosing (in my case, taking the car to a shop to have the leak diagnosed) a tranny leak? Also, how much would it typically cost to have a leak repaired in an AW71 equipped car, assuming that one of the seals in the tranny had to be replaced?

Also, my car has had a chronically late 2-3 shift for quite some time, even when the fluid level is at the proper level. What would be a solution to remedy this?

Thanks for your help,

Sam
