Seat BURNING from heater 700 1989

From combing the board I see others have experienced the excessively hot rear-end from faulty seat heaters.

I noticed a small hole in my seat recently and after closer look, saw it was from a burn. The last few times I'd used the seat heater there was a hot spot on my leg.

I unclipped the front of the seat and felt around the area of the hole and I could feel a small cavity (from being burnt) + I was able to poke a bare wire up through the hole. D'oh!

For now, I live in a warm enough climate that the 30A fuse will simply have to come out and stay out until this is fixed.

Any recommendations on how to fix this? Help appreciated.
