sluggish acceleration 700 1986

Hello all

I recently purchased a lovely 1986 764T with 175,000 miles. It's in great condition, except for the usual Volvo 7XX issues: saggy headliner, scorched wiring harness, temperamental electric driver's seat. The leather is in great shape (the previous owner had butt-ugly seat covers on), and everything else seems to work well. It feels and sounds like most of my suspension bushings are needing to be replaced.

The problem is that acceleration is first gear has a noticeable lag before it starts to accelerate. Acceleration in the other gears feels just ok, with a mild lugging feel. The turbo seems to kick in well enough, but from everything that I've read on this board, I should have a quicker car.

I've changed the plugs from Bosch to NGK (the old plugs looked real good and the old owner's mechanic said that the cylinders are all 155psi), I installed 8mm plug wires, new rotor and cap, K&N air filter, Mobil 1 synthetic oil, had the throttle body and injectors cleaned. This weekend, I'm going to install a new intake manifold gasket and injector o-ring kit, and new vacuum lines. As soon as I find a new wiring harness, I'll replace that. Also, someone on this site suggested replacing the 02 sensor.

Any suggestions?
