Hey, I am putting my 87 740 turbo back on the road in a few months, possibly sooner, and am attempting to put the stock factory head unit back in. It is the TD-6141 unit that came with the car. I still have not found any documentation that clarifies what wires are what etc. if anyone knows what colors are what I would love to know. The main problem lies in the fact that back when I had the car on the road a few years ago I put in an aftermarket stereo and some if the wires were changed out so I am now not working with stock colored wires. These are the wires coming out of the back of the stock deck: a reddish orange, a green, a gray, a black and a blue which go to a plug which I have hooked up to the amp under the steering wheel to wires of the same colors coming out the amp. There is also a tan wire with a female connector and a yellow wire with a male connector coming out of the back of the deck, and lastly a orange wire and a black wire both connected to a dual female connector. As of now i have the reddish orange, green, gray, black and blue connected to the plug that goes to the amp all hooked up, but there is still what looks like a black ground wire held on by screw in the amp, does this go to the long thicker black wire that is grounded under the driver's foot well and routed up to the deck? There are also one black and one red male and female plastic connectors in the dash, i put those two together and they seem to operate the antenna, but when i turn on the deck the numbers and knobs seem to illuminate and you can hear the speakers "pop" a little when you turn it on but no sound and no clock or channel display on the deck. I still can not figure out what the tan and yellow wires and the orange and black wires coming out the deck are suppossed to be are they for remote, power, ground ? Sorry for the long speach but any help would be appreciated.
