940 seems to be searching for an idle 900

Greetings to you all.

My 940 NA Regina '93 seems to hunt for an idle, and periodically accelerates weak from a dead stop (or pause). I cleaned the throttle body and this seemed to help for a short time, then back to it's old tricks. It never dies but generally dips RPM's when at full stop.

Some thoughts here, but this might be classic symptoms of something you have seen before.

The car has 235k miles. The cap and rotor are new, but is it possible I have oil leaking into the cam driven distributor?

Would a dirty idle valve likely cause this?

Thanks to all for your help and encouragement.
