Any tricks for installing the snow cap for the later ('86-93) 240s? 200 1986

I just picked up a snow cap for my '86 244 from Ipd today, but I had a bit of difficulty installing it, and I figured I'd see if anyone has dealt with this before.

Looked in the archives, didn't find anything.

The main problem is this: How the hell do I get those plastic tabs to actually "snap" onto the cover? There doesn't seem to be any amount of pressure I can apply to get them to hook.

Thanks as always.

And even though it doesn't relate to this post, I just took this updated picture of the fleet, so I felt like posting it here:
