B18 Alternator Bracket 140-160

Tifosi;

I believe you mean the tensioning bar, and not the bracket (big difference), but in BOTH cases, the ONLY time these things break (or even the alt mounting boss), is when they are not tight and allowed to vibrate...eventually this leads to material fatigue and failure cracking.

Dissassemble, and check for galling and fretting to help determine what's not tight...make right, or it will happen again!

I have had the bolt on the tensioning bar into the front of the head, vibrate loose...I now use thread-lock compound or safety wire.
