cam advice 120-130

My 1967 122S has twin-SU and I believe the original C? camshaft. I've been told that it's pretty worn, and combined with worn carbs and the original exhaust my car does not perform too well on motorway hills, plus the petrol consumption is high (22 mpg british).

What type of cam could I get to give the car a bit more grunt on the big roads? I will also be swapping the carbs for some known-reconditioned ones and also doing some honing and re-boring as necessary. I've heard that an R gives you more top-end power. Any experiences?

Thanks a lot,

Tom
