M46 Upshift arrow - OR - Please, no more duct tape 700 1990


Seems a little bit complicated, dontcha think? Kinda like adjusting the valve tappets from under the engine just because you don't want to open the hood... :)

In answer to the OP, no, there isn't another way to individually kill teh shift arrow (the fuses cover multiple devices, and isolating and cutting wiring is utter overkill). You either have to remove the bulb or tape it over.

My recommendation would be t just pull teh cluster, remove teh bulb, and be done with it. Quite frankly I'm surprised your so reluctant to remove the cluster and just DO this job... its literally like a 2 minute operation. You remove the screw covers on either side of the bottom of the instrument cluster, unscrew the screws, slide teh cluster out, and remove the bulb.

Either you have no understanding of how your Volvo is assembled (have you done any work on it before?) or you are really, REALLY lazy. ;)
