overboost 200 1984

84 245Ti... driving fast on the way home last night after a long weekend.

Going up a grade on the interstate, in boost when all of a sudden the turbo gauge needle goes into the red (stock turbo gauge) and with lots of pinging. Yikes! I backed off immediately and drove gingerly the rest of the way, being careful to stay in the yellow range of the gauge (it kept wanting to go into the red...)

I looked under the hood this morning, the small dia. rubber hose that controls the wastegate had ruptured.

Is there a special hose; or will a matched vacuum hose from the local parts house be ok?

Thanks

Robert
