importing car to ontario.....any advice? 200

So, I'm a Canadian citizen, and apparently a resident of canada can't drive a US-plated car. Who knew? My dad technically "owns" my car, and gave me permission to drive it, but I have to import it anyways. So now I have to get a safety and emissions test done. Any ontario folks have hints or anything about this? I'm thinking I'm going to remove my K cam and put the M back in for the test. Do they check for pre-heat hoses? Mine is long gone. Any advice is appreciated. Then I have to find insurance....what a pain.
