UPdate - Rough IDLE No Power 200 1987

Thanks to the board I finally got my son 87 245 up and running. Armed w/ advice from all, FAQs and Chiltons I learned all about AMM, really dirty TB and flame traps. After first checking the firing order ( he had a few days earlier change plugs, rotor and air filter)which he has switched the second and third cycle firing order I got it to start but no idle. I then unplugged the AMM but still no idle so I started as "trouble shooting" and found four holes in the upper air assembly and a oil and varish filled throttle body. I cleaned the TB and fixed the holes and reattached the TB. Car would start but not idle until I "pulled" the lead from the AMM, then it idled but no power. When to Ebay (no local P and P)and finally "won" a 007 AMM and just finished installing. Car starts and even idles ( a little high 1000-1200 rpm in neutral) and how can be driven.
Thanks for all your help cost for repairs $48.00 ( inludes new flame trap, new TB gaskets and o ring , used AMM and I even changed out the oil fill cap o ring. I feels good to get something right and my next purchase is a Bentley manual.
