Car not running right 700 1987

I've asked this question before. So far no luck....
Basically my car (1987 740T B230) idles and runs OK.
Now, If I press the gas pedal rising RPMs to let's say
2500 or higher, then release it abruptly (not gradually),
the engine will die. It can not transition smoothly from
2500 to 800 RPMs. Throttle body has been cleaned.
Tune up done, most components replaced.
