Metal Brake lines 444-544

While trying to replace the flex brake lines, the nut that connects the flex line to the metal line won't budge. Even with a brake line wrench, the nut started to round off, then to the vice grips and it just got worse. That nut won't come off. For some crazy reason, it isn't reverse threaded is it?

Now that the nut has been mangled, what are my options?
Option one:
My first thought is to cut the line just behind the nut, get a new nut and have someone flair the end of the cut line.
Looking at an old CVI parts catalog, it says the lines are copper nickel. If I cut the line, how flexible is copper nickel? Can it be bent without crimping? I will have to straighten one or two of the existing curves a little to get more length to make up for the cut.

Option two:
If this won't work, does anyone know where I could get new copper nickel lines? The part numbers are 86828 left side and 86829 right side.

Option three:
I can get straight generic lines with pre-made flares and fittings. They come with a spring around the line so you bend them accordingly. Does anyone have experience with these?

Thanks,
DC
