M41 and overdrive 1800

It begins to grab near the top of the pedal range. Could it be anything else? Worn syncros or shifter linkage? Tonight, when I get home I am going to try putting 80w-90 lube back into the gearbox to see if this problem maybe dissapears. However i do have another question, which lubricant is really better. 30w or 80w-90? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each?
