I was driving along on the highway and she dies 700 1988

I was driving along on the highway in my 1988 760 turbo at about 70 mph.

When all of a sudden, the engine just quits. No coughing, just dead.

Lucky for me I was able to get out of the middle lane and safely onto the shoulder.

I tried many times to start it. It cranks, but does not start. The tach does not budge, it just lies dead.

I had the car towed to my sister’s mechanic since I was 150 miles from home.

I was reading about the Hall sensor, and I thought it may be that.

The mechanic checked for spark and said it has it in all 4 wires. Does this rule out the hall sensor?

He said he will check for fuel next.

Any idea what it may be?

Thanks for everyone’s help.... Dave
