More on that later, but for now, as a starter, here's what I sent to Rhys...
"Oh man oh man... I'll tell ya, after the hour of me figuring out and setting up the ignition correctly, it started right up, even without the choke!!!! ANd yeah, the choke just hooks up to that one carb, and it works fine and dandy. Thanks SOOOO MUCH! We still have some work to do, but it is AWESOME! The throttle linkage needs to be adjusted some more, i'd say i am only able to open it up about 3/4(probably less than that, or maybe not...) and it feels GREAT. Much different feel than that crappy weber, and it's smooth, and the SOUND! Even at the partial throttle, oh the sound... Lovely, your out of the box tuning is basically spot on, it's AWESOME! I'll let you know more later, i gotta get to bed, but i gotta post some stuff first of course ;). Peace!
-Kyle"
EDIT: I decided to spread some more news... I checked the compression again before we got the motor started, 125 137 165 175... I'll check the compression again in a couple days and after i adjust the valves, which i haven't done yet... IT'S DIRTY I TELL YA! :-P Also, I'm thinking this may be the cause of the less smooth idle that this motor has... It shakes more... (hmmm, it doesn't run perfectly under 2k rpms, and it kinda has a rough idle... Hot cam??? We'll find out later... Oh the wait!)
