airconditioning problem with the volvo 960 wagan 900 1997

I have a 1997 volvo 960 station wagon. The problem is the AC. I use the AC for 15-30 minutes and cold air is coming out of the vents. Then after this time period warm air starts coming out. I turn the ac off and after about 5 minutes I turn the ac on again and I get cold air for about 15-30 minutes. The AC seems to have a mind of its own.(It will blow cold air or warm air whenever it wants too)
I took it to the Volvo dealer and they were unable to tell me what the problem was. They did put dye twice to check for leaks. However no leaks were found. I think this may be an eletrical or pressure swith problem. Anyone who has had this problem and got it fixed please let me know.

Thanks

Ed
