Wiring cracking!! 200

Hello, while looking at the IPD catalog, then were selling a wiring harness because they said it was a common problem. well, i looked into my wiring and in fact some wire sielding has cracked pretty bad,

Now my question, Can i use come kind of plastic compund (plastic coating) that i can re-coat wires with to "seal" the wires? what have some people done about this? or should i just use black tape to cover them up individually? My car is not dead because of this (it is just waiting for me to replace shocks) bit i was thinking i can do this while it is out!!

any comments? i just don't want to spend the big money for the whole new wiring!!
