need help diagnosing noise w/ audio clip 900 1994

car is a 1994 volvo 940 non turbo.

during acceleration, there is a clicking noise, sort of metallic.

i tried to listen while revving the engine at a stand still, but it only does it for a second. unlike while driving, when it will happen the whole time while accelerating.

oil in car is maxlife 10w-30, fairly new. with a wix oil filter.
all 4 exhaust manifold gaskets were recently replaced.
if any other information would be useful let me know
