92 245 a/c small line from firewall freezing--should it? 200

problems w/ a/c. i bought a 92 245 w/ r-134. the a/c is not working properly.

i just replaced a burned-up clutch on it. on the accumulator, there are 2 ports. the metal and plastic cap.

which one is the low port on the accumulator?
shouldn't the large line be ice cold and not the little one?
how can i tell if the orifice tube is bad?
the condensor fan works (tested), but it doesn't come on.
how can i tell if the high pressure switch is bad (pressoswitch?)
does this car have a low pressure switch?
the a/c compressor is getting very hot and it might burn this new clutch up--what might be causing this?

i don't have any gauges.

i asked some questions recently & thanks for the responses.

regards,
byron golden
