960 Radiator/coolant puzzle 900 1992

I recently replaced the whole cooling syst. (Radiator, hoses, thermostat, expanshion tank) I fill the tank up to the full level, but it always goes down to the mid level. I then replaced the exp. tank cap (green) but it still does this. There are no leaks I can see, whats am I doing wrong?

Also I want to know for certain if there is anything wrong with the red dextron I put in. It seems to work as the volvo brand but There are mixed messages about this type of coolent.
