89 740 engine into a 84 245 700

compadre has a high miles 84 240 stick wagon with great cosmetics, and knows of a low mileage, bad cosmetics, but great drive train, 89 740 stick f/s. Can the 740 motor go into the 84, and are there things to beware of? BTW, the 84 has a bad engine wiring harness. Are other parts interchangeable, like seats, A/C? If there is a site with the info needed on it, could someone point me to it?
