Hard start after warm up on warm days 200

So my 91 240 doesn't like to do errons on hot days. I will drive it around, it warms up to normal temps, then i run into the store to get something, like 5 minutes later, i jump in the car and try to start it up, it starts up with the check engine light on, then dies. so i try it again, and give it some gas, and it starts up, and the check engine light goes away. I've check the codes. It comes back as everything is fine. so what is it? fuel pump? temp gauge? driver dumb? thanks gang. ps i am new to fixin' stuff, not the brightest in the bunch.
