on my 97 960. Car ran great and smoothest it has in years. Put 187 miles on her today with my sales job, on the road. The car has 195,000 and purring like a kitten, holding 20lbs of vacume at idle. Here is what I did for those who
want to know.
First thing was the Auto-rx motor and tranny treatment (www.auto-rx.com)If interested I've posted a testamonial at their web site that can be clicked on about how good a product they really have, Its not snake oil.
After that came the synthetic tranny and motor oil.
Then I took the fuel injectors out and UPSed them to
Linder Tecnical Services 888-809-3835 for the asnu treatment.
This machine takes your old injectors cleans them by pulsing them while back flushig the injector at the same time, gets them reeal clean. They also report back if any of them is looking like they my have a problem by checking the circutry as well.
Then came the knock sensors, If you have a high mileage 960 and still have the original sensors in there change them, belive me it will make a new vehicle out of it, for the better. These must be tourqed at 10 to 12 ft lbs.
New breather box went in also and I did this with out removing the intake
by taking out the power steering pump pulling it back out of the way then removing the alternator and then digging around a little while,gotta be better than tackling that intake.
So I've put some where around 300.00 bucks in there along with around 8hrs of my personal labor on different Saturdays when it was raining cats and dogs here in South west Va. And the car is just running great, Oh yes even with the air on it's running better than it was before with it off.
