QUIET CLUNK WHEN I STOP 700 1985

Well what do you know ! I too have this clunk/thunk problem on my 85 740 Non-Turbo with a ZF22 tranny. It's been there for years now, even after getting a Volvo-rebuilt ZF22 installed 6 years ago that has worked just great so far. I've always felt it might be the soft-engine mounts and/or soft tranny mounts - but Aslan still has it after changing them so not so sure.. Am going to be changing my engine/tranny mounts soon so let's see.

Chris suggests the strud-rod-cone bushings might be the culprit - but I've recently changed those and the noise is still there.

Could it be related to the drive-shaft I wonder...
