1997 climate control module 900

Is the electronic climate control module on a 1997 960 located behind the dash control panel as per earlier 900s? The vehicle in question belongs to a friend, and the A/C has quit working. Full of freon, all other elements appear in order. I've been told that the mechanic who worked on the system found that when he "wiggled" on the wires into the module that the a/c kicked on. From the work done, and that little piece of information, it sounds as if this unit may be a candidate for inspection for a solder reflow. Briefly, the a/c was sporadic, a shop replaced the orifice tube (I believe) and recharged the system and confirmed that the compressor will work. Thanks in advance.
