how to soundproof a 240? Help wanted. 200

I love my 81 240 but the interior noise level is high and fatiguing on long trips. If I have about $100 and a Saturday to devote to the project, where should I start? Where can I apply most of my efforts where I will get the biggest dB reduction? Hood, firewall, floor doors? There are no unsealed holes in the firewall and the car is 100% stock, no mods other than IPD suspension stuff. I also have heard that there are some home repair materials that work nearly as well as the $$$ specialized sound deadening products. Any clues?
