I know of a dealer who has an original Volvo assembly for about $75. I just needed the sheathing and found that you could buy brake cable sheathing by the foot at a bicycle shop. My total repair cost - $6.50.

The other half of the cable is the wire itself. If somebody knows of a suitable wire substitute, then you can have your choke working before it gets too cold and without emtying your wallet.
