Alternator Not Giving Alternatives 200 1989

The alternator refuses to charge the battery (12.6 V ignition off, 11.98 Volts ignition on). None of the idiot lights comes on when I turn the ignition on. D+ has 12.6V going to it. B+ has no volts; however, there is continuity (per DVM beeping) when I connect the battery positive terminal to one DVM lead and the other to the B+ terminal/wire. I changed the connection to the B+ wire so that it connects.
