unsuccessful wheel swap 200 1989

I was getting a second car ready for winter backup duty earlier today. I wanted to put better tires on an 89 244. The best tires available was a new set mounted on the Aires wheels from a 92 944T.

Of course the wheels fit just fine but I found that the hubcaps were a problem. The caps fit fine on the rear. The front hub on the 244 extends out too far to allow the clips on the cap to snap into place. So while the wheels look great on the car the lack of caps on the front is a problem.
